UPS Unveils Courts for a Cause Autographed Replica Courts at Men’s and Women’s NCAA Final Four

Pieces Autographed by NCAA Coaches Auctioned to Fight Cancer

United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS), the official logistics provider of the NCAA, launched ‘Courts for a Cause’ – an ambitious program combining UPS’s logistical strength and a nation of fervent collegiate basketball fans to raise funds to fight cancer during the men’s and women’s NCAA Final Four® Tournaments.

After shipping 132 court pieces to the 68 men’s and 64 women’s NCAA Division I coaches for their autographs, UPS collected and assembled the signed pieces into replicas of both the men’s and women’s Final Four Connor Courts.

Supreme Court Issues Decision in Young v. UPS: A Duty To Accommodate Pregnant Employees? – JDSupra

The Supreme Court of the United States recently issued its decision in Young v. United Parcel Service, Inc.. Vacating and remanding the Fourth Circuit’s decision, the Court concluded that the Pregnancy Discrimination Act (“PDA”) “requires courts to consider the extent to which an employer’s policy treats pregnant workers less favorably than it treats nonpregnant workers similar in their ability or inability to work” and that there was a genuine dispute regarding “whether UPS provided more favorable treatment to at least some employees whose situation cannot reasonably be distinguished from Young’s.” Young v. United Parcel Service, Inc., 575 U.S. ___ (2015).

UPS CEO’s 2014 Total Compensation More Than Doubles – RTT News

Abney received a total compensation of $8.36 million, including base salary, stock grants and incentives in 2014, compared to the $4.08 million he received in 2013, and $5.33 million he got in 2012.

UPS said the executive compensation increases reflect a change in the company’s long-term incentive performance award program and changes in pension value stemming from lower discount rates and changes in other assumptions.

UPS Recommends Rejection of ‘Mini-Tender’ Offer from TRC Capital Corporation

UPS (NYSE: UPS) has received notice of an unsolicited “mini-tender” offer by TRC Capital Corporation to purchase up to 1,500,000 shares of UPS’s Class B common stock, or approximately 0.2% of the outstanding Class B shares as of February 18, 2015. TRC Capital’s unsolicited “mini-tender” offer price of $95.25 per share is approximately 4.4% below the $99.67 per share closing price of UPS’s Class B common stock on March 12, 2015.

UPS is issuing this press release in an effort to ensure that UPS shareowners are made aware of the potential adverse consequences of participating in the TRC offer. The company wants shareowners to be well informed so they are able to make prudent decisions about their share ownership.
