UPS Rises on List of 2014 Most Valuable Global Brands

Brand Finance has named UPS (UPS) to its Brandirectory list of 500 most valuable global brands in 2014.

Ranking No. 48 this year, the Atlanta-based company inched a step higher over 2013, when the company ranked No. 49. UPS is also the only package delivery, freight and logistics services provider to make the Top 50 and is the world’s most valuable brand in this industry, according to the directory.

Doomed UPS plane lacked warning software update – NTSB report – Yahoo

Updated software would have given UPS pilots an earlier warning that they were too low before their cargo jet crashed in August, killing both crew members on approach to the Birmingham, Alabama, airport, a National Transportation Safety Board report concluded.

An updated version of the warning system’s software would have alerted the pilot 5-1/2 seconds before the Airbus A300 freighter, which was on automatic pilot until just before the crash, hit the trees, the study said.

UPS Delivery truck spills thousands of syringes on I-95 ramp – WTOC

The UPS truck driver reportedly had no idea that he lost the package of syringes and continued on his way.

Police say they will attempt to contact UPS to make them aware of what happened and to hopefully mail the syringes back to the company. Otherwise, they will dispose of them.
