In regards to the 9-11 "truther" conspiracy theorists; Wiring up the Twin Towers with explosives and then arranging for multiple airliners to be hijacked and subsequently flown into them immdiately prior to detonation as part of some sort of "false flag" incident is a conspiracy that is far too complex and would require the involvement, cooperation and silence of far too many people. There are too many potential points of failure. It simply is not realistic. If, for the sake of argument, there were some rogue element within our government that was willing to kill thousands of US citizens and do billions of dollars worth of damage in order to justify a "war on terror" and the subsequent invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq....a far simpler and more effective method of accomplishing this would have been to detonate an extremely low-yield nuclear device (say, 2 kilotons which is 1/10th the power of the bomb we dropped on Hiroshima)in the underground garage of the WTC. In one fell swoop we would have it; the Towers destroyed; thousands killed or maimed; a weapon of mass destruction used against our nation, with "evidence" conveniently planted/arranged that would implicate Iraq (or Iran, or North Korea, or Libya, or Syria), the sympathy of the entire world, and all the "justification" we would need to invade or bomb whoever we could "prove" was responsible. Such a task could be accomplished by as little as 2 men, with a weapon that would fit in a car trunk, and the number of potentially compromising people who were "in the know" would be held to an absolute minimum. If there was any sort of government conspiracy regarding 9-11...which I do find to be at least plausible.... it occured after the fact not before and its purpose was to either cover up the negligence of those who should have known about it and stopped it, or to manipulate the evidence and twist the narrative in order to more easily justify the resulting attack on our civil liberties and the subsequent invasion of a nation (Iraq) that had nothing to do with the attack in the first place.
