"The Anniversary Betrayal."
In the boardroom of the Fortune 500,
Fat Freddy smiles, all sleek and smug.
His company turns 50, so let's party,
But soon he'll leave many without a hug.
The champagne pops, the music plays,
Employees cheer, their loyalty strong.
But little do they know Fat Freddy's plan,
To lay off workers, cut their life-line bond.
They dance and laugh, enjoying the night,
But the dark truth looms, not yet in sight.
For Fat Freddy's greed, a cold-hearted ploy,
To cut costs and profit, his workers to destroy.
With each party held in different towns,
The company celebrates, but employees frown.
Their jobs in danger, their future bleak,
Fat Freddy's betrayal, the ultimate sneak.
As the festivities come to an end,
The workers leave with their fake friend.
The pink slips soon to come, the fear sets in,
Fat Freddy's betrayal, the ultimate sin
In the end, the 50th anniversary,
A bittersweet memory, a tale of misery.
Fat Freddy's greed, the workers' loss,
A cautionary tale of corporate dross.
A Song Version:
Verse 1:
We gather 'round to celebrate,
Our company's 50th year to date,
We pop the champagne, raise a toast,
Our loyalty, we proudly boast.
Chorus:
But little do we know,
The plans that they've foregone,
Our jobs soon to be gone,
Our future, now unknown.
Verse 2:
We dance and sing, enjoy the night,
Our spirits high, our hearts alight,
We cherish all the memories made,
But little do we know the price to be paid.
Chorus:
But little do we know,
The plans that they've foregone,
Our jobs soon to be gone,
Our future, now unknown.
Bridge:
Our dedication, our hard work,
Thrown away, like an old shirt,
Their greed and profit, our loss,
Our loyalty, a meaningless gloss.
Chorus:
But little do we know,
The plans that they've foregone,
Our jobs soon to be gone,
Our future, now unknown.
Outro:
We leave the party, our hearts in pain,
Our trust in them, all in vain,
Our future, now uncertain,
Their betrayal, forever certain.
