Re: A shooting that erupted after an employee's disciplinary hearing left nine people We are still part of the British Monachy, same as Australia, Bahamas, and some 50 other countries. If my political knowlege is correct. Great Britain also enjoys a democracy. The US fought the English, because you wanted immediate independency, whereas Canada didn't. Because it was a win/win situation for us to be connected to them, and we still are in many ways. As for us being located next to Russia or China, how do you come up with that ? We are part of the new world (North America), that came together just like the USA. With Boat loads of European, (mostly British in Canada), new commers. The only big differernce is, you cut ties with Britain, (forced even a war), and we didn't. Looking back, I wouldn't be proud of that war as an American, because many fought for simply nothing, as Canada is a good example on how it developed without having to fight the Brits. We are the ones that fought with the British in WW2. We entered the war with Britain, the USA did 3 years later, in 1942, and only particpated for 3 years, not the whole 6 years the Brits and Canadains did. To this day, the Dutch Monachy sends us 100.000 tulips every year on liberation day, because Canada was solely responsible for liberating Holland. They are displayed in Ottawa each May. Tell the dutch, that Canada didn't make an impact. Or even the Brits for that matter. They will call you an idiot ! We also brought food and supplies to GB and the rest of Europe, while the US was still laying back, and many of our ships got hit by german U-boots, some just off the coast of Newfoundland, that are now ocean historic sites. You really need to learn better history.
