Governor Blagojevich: In His Own Words Caution - Rod Blagojevich has some issues using proper language. To get the point across how arrogant and egotistical he is, I **** out the true spelling of the words he used. I'm surprised the words were in the article. In October, federal investigators obtained permission to tap Gov. Rod Blagojevich's home phone and phones at his campaign office. Efforts to obtain personal benefits in return for U.S. Senate appointment: Blagojevich considered taking the job himself: "If ... they're not going to offer anything of any value, then I might just take it." Later he says: "Unless I get something real good for [Senate Candidate 1], *****, I'll just send myself, you know what I'm saying. I'm going to keep this Senate option for me a real possibility, you know, and therefore I can drive a hard bargain. You hear what I'm saying. "And if I don't get what I want and I'm not satisfied with it, then I'll just take the Senate seat myself. [The Senate seat] "is a friendg valuable thing, you just don't give it away for nothing." In a separate conversation, Blagojevich says: "I've got this thing and it's friendg golden, and, uh, uh, I'm just not giving it up for friend**n' nothing. I'm not gonna do it. And, and I can always use it. I can parachute me there." Blagojevich also asked what he can get from President-elect Obama for the Senate seat: "Can [the President-elect] help in the private sector. . . where it wouldn't be tied to him? . . .I mean, so it wouldn't necessarily look like one for the other." Blagojevich said that consultants (believed to be on the call at that time) are telling him that he has to "suck it up" for two years and do nothing and give this "motherf****er [the President-elect] his senator. ****** him. For nothing? ****** him."
