Hedge fund titan Dan Loeb is buying into FedEx (FDX), and UPS (UPS) trading at an all-time high. The parcel delivery business is strongly back in fashion among investors. But, as of now, these two giants are all but absent from the world's largest and fastest-growing delivery market, China.
The Chinese government, for now, has mainly shut them out, allowing domestic Chinese companies, in particular one called Shunfeng Express, to grow from start-up to giants in less than a decade.
FedEx and UPS will need to find ways to grow in China. The opportunity there is truly outsized.
