A few years ago at my station we had so many thefts of Apple products from our station that security came in and literally threatened every employee on the belt during a morning meeting. We got dressed down for at least half an hour. There were all sorts of statements like "We will find you" and "Hell is coming for you". We all got a pretty good laugh out of it because all security seemed to do was to look for the random drug package. There were never efforts directed at finding the Apple thief. We had a fake camera installed above the belt. It was a plywood box with screen netting that led some people to believe it was a camera. Then we got some real cameras that were tied to a VCR that no one maintained. Management said it went direct to Memphis, ooooohhh! If we could not adequately stock toilet paper in the restrooms think about how much attention the VCR got. There were no tapes ever available, it was so funny. Heck even our monthly frontline was recorded on a tape that had been reused for years. It was so warbly that Gina looked good. Security came in one day and said our station was going to lose the Apple account for the entire company and then Hell would really come down. Haha, don't you see we are trying to work here. You go do your job and we will do ours. I mean come on, we are all couriers working six days a week, 55 hours a week, exhausted, dealing with customers and managers alike. Leave us alone and you GO do YOUR job. Well the thief was never caught. There were a few people under suspicion that were let go for various unrelated reasons (always the case) but the thievery continued. It drove me crazy to figure who was doing it. In the end I could only reach one logical conclusion. It was a manager.
