Fudging the numbers is done everyday especially at Ground. I remember a few years back when I got this job the driver that trained me found a package later in the day in a bulk stop he sheeted it up as a 04 and we moved on basically said for get that I am not driving back 2 zipcodes because their loader is a maroon. So when I went out on my own I busted my butt with promises of raises and bonuses, everything got delivered and after a couple years of false promises you get to the point where you just dont care. However the reason you dont care is because your Contractor has basically blown smoke for the last couple years and if he dosent value hard work and reward it why should you continue to bust your hump on a daily basis. We all know what we have to do to get by and thats what they get. Everyone says 12 dollars a hour well it works out for most to be that if they are wre working 8 hour shifts. Those in this business know that a 8 hour day is very rare the more you work the less you get paid for most of us that 12 bucks a hour is more like 10. So if I find something later in the day do I want to waste my time driving through 2 or 3 zipcodes to get back to that stop heck no!!! That affects my personal time with my family at that is unexceptable to me, Now if you offered overtime I may sing a diffrent tune til then you get what you pay for. On a side note if these Contractors really indeed do run their own business then why dont they schedule the pick ups, why dont we wear their uniform, why are they not calling us when their is a problem. FedEx runs us in every aspect of the word, Contractors are merely a person who is paying the cost to run FedEx Ground business and the fall guy when there is a problem. If you do run your own business would you dock your bonuses for a complaint? I am thinking not. This model was obviously set up for you guys not to make money and FedEx to make millions.
