Guaranteeing Overtime For Truckers Act

Better known as "GOT" it is a bipartisan bill introduced in Congress this week amending the FLSA of 1938 requiring truck drivers to be paid overtime after 40 hours. If passed it would likely bring an end to the paid by the mile or paid by the stop scheme or daily per diems FXG contractors use which requires a contractor employed driver to go out there and kill himself running a zillion stops a day which is the only way both he and the contractor can make any money.....And don't forget the more clearly defined joint employer rule.

It's quite clear who this bill has in mind....So stay tuned into this one.

If Republicans go against this, then I’m a lifetime democrat!
Unfortunately, Fat Freddy and his purchased GOP congressman won't allow the bill to get out of committee.
As a result truck driving will continue to be a very unpleasant sector of the economy to be employed in.

Who is the congressman for the district FedEx is headquartered in?

Yes, that's what I thought.
Quiet now.
