We must always hedge our bets. As a member on this forum pointed out several years ago I reside in North East Tennessee. Red Republican 1st Congressional district. There are no Democratic opponents in the general election. The primary is the election. I have the best job in the world most days. When I leave my route, I will leave FedEx. Not holding my breath on the Senate seat, but in a 4 way race with two politicians running anything can happen. The ONLY reason I'm running is to be vocal about the "law" that was passed in 2013 that took a right away from We the People to vote for a candidate for a Constitutionally elected office by a special interest group. (Tn sheriff's association). I'm not soliciting donations, a 10 year state representative running for Senate has a $120,000 war chest and those figures are difficult to overcome. There is an air of anti establishment "throw the bums out" in the wind this year. Spoke to a group last night and was straight up with them. Started my speech with "I am running for state senate because we need a new sheriff in the county and I am a firm believer of term limits. I can accomplish 3 things in 2 years, resign and run for sheriff in 2018". I also pointed out that Tennessee is an agriculture state and 26 states have some kind of Medical marijuana. The VA had just decided to treat PTSD with this "medicine" Our farmers are idle and we could make millions while bringing green jobs  back to 10-E-C. We are losing more veterans to suicide than we did in out last two wars combined. It was an older group of voters but I got more of a warm reaction to that statement than I thought I would receive. I followed it up with "we are all adults here and we know no one in Tennessee smokes weed". After all it's our 2nd largest cash crop but we are missing the tax dollars. Time will tell. Win, lose or draw I'm having fun with this at the truck will be there in 2 or 4 years if I strike out again....but I will never quit. If Hillary goes in you won't be able to buy a gun. It's all good. Be safe on the road today. It's gonna rain here through Saturday. No swimming the next couple of days for me.
