I know thats how the joke is supposed to be told, but there arent too many people who understand who who John Lucas (AKA the Prince of Darkness) really was. Most people, however, are well aware of the reliability issues of vintage Triumphs.

My brother and I rebuilt a 1961 MGA, I owned a 1972 Saab Sonnet with Lucas electrics. I had lots of friends with British sports cars and British bikes.

I understand the reliability of the electrical systems.
