From 51 to 1: 2010 Miss USA crowned in Las Vegas

By OSKAR GARCIA, Associated Press Writer Oskar Garcia, Associated Press Writer 17 mins ago

LAS VEGAS – A 24-year-old brunette from Michigan has beaten out four blondes and 46 other women for the 2010 Miss USA title after nearly stumbling in her evening gown.
Rima Fakih of Dearborn, Mich., won the pageant Sunday night after swimsuit, evening gown and interview competitions at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
During the competition, Fakih nearly fell while finishing her walk in a long, strapless gown because of the length of its train, but she recovered without a spill and went on to win.
In the interview, Fakih was asked whether she thought birth control should be paid for by health insurance, and she said she believed it should.
Miss Oklahoma USA Morgan Elizabeth Woolard was first runner-up after handling a question about Arizona's new immigration law. She said she supports it.

If she has not nor wants to blow something up I could care less. When my IRish family immigrated here there were treated like crud because of who they were so I can't pass judgement on name only. Besides, she's hot.

It's all owned by the Donald......same to me. Gee, should we exploit women just in America or the entire Universe. Donald can do both

If Miss Oklahoma had won despite tripping and almost falling down had won the event as Miss Michigan did, would you have thought it no big deal? Prolly not.
If someone had bothered to bring it to my attention (by maybe starting a thread on it in the current events forum) I would have thought the same thing. I mean really, who cares?

I think "Miss USA" is a JV with Trump and NBC. Either way, it is still not "Miss America", which is the recognized pageant for the USofA.
There are also some very interesting pageants out there, USofA and International.
Could be another thread.......:wink2:

Again, Miss Michigan is the one that tripped and had the "duh"" question. Miss Okla. did not trip and had a very hot political question for which the audience applauded her response.

Now the pole dancing pictures of the winner are out there......not a good representative of USA!!

When Miss Michigan is disqualified for the forthcomming nude pics that im sure will surface soon then Miss Oklahoma will be crowned. Adding to the controversy is before the questions Miss OK was leading by a decent margin in points...then the questions came. Miss Michigan bungled hers and actually said that birth control pills are a controlled substance inbetween her giggles...then she stumbled...but yet she won. HMMMMMMM.

My point exactly...I think it's rigged !! I think controversy is put there on purpose to draw attention to the beauty pageants so Donald Combover can make $$$.

Yep, agree its all a fixed deal. She is a naturalized citizen and of mid east heritage. Should be lots of fodder for the media. I haven't watched the pagent in years.

I guess I just dont care. I think the beautiful women in the world rarely get recognized. The ones who mother the children, and care for the sick. Fight in our wars, and leave families at home. Ive see a few of these contests , and they are all so beautiful, no one really cares what they think, unless they think AZ was correct to uphold a federal law, that didnt seem too popular with the judges, just like the gay marriage question in the last one. Some are dumb and beautiful, some are smart and beautiful, and any hottie is likely to have a past, and then.................
