Obama pledges allegiance - "under God"

Just saw the President participate in the pledge of allegiance to the flag and he actually said "one nation under God".

What say you?

It was during a naturalized citizenship ceremony for 25 service members who have served their country.
It was a very nice and moving ceremony and the Prez did a good job.

I'd say he had no choice. He is in a very big danger of losing his job, and can't make any mistakes.

"What say you?" Who talks like that, anyway? Is it generational? East or West coast? I've heard BillO say it, but not many others.

Oh ...knew it sounded familiar ... just couldn't place it.

I haven't seen his show but maybe 2or 3 times and at least 3 years ago.
Disagreeable person and full of himself.
I wasn't even aware he was still on or is he?
The only thing I watch on Fox is Shep Smith - I like him.

I'm just upset knowing that the unpatriotic founding fathers never said a pledge of allegiance or sang a national anthem. Even worse was the fact they found no need for either one. How in the world did they ever show everyone what good Americans they were?

But then I guess they didn't just sit and look at the cave wall so there you go!

Maybe they had Betsy Ross plant little flags in their front lawns.......you know, Ross's Realty?

If the pledge of allegiance was authored by a socialist and a socialist President sez the pledge, does this make all who say the pledge socialists too?

Most people I know just want to say, "I love my country" and don't need to put any name on it !!

Most people I know just want to say, "I love my country" and don't need to put any name on it !!

Then why don't people save a few steps and just say, "I love my country" and be done with it?

And saying you love your country doesn't prove anything either and for that matter neither does saying a pledge, flying a flag or singing a song!

I've always thought it would be more meaningful if elected officials pledged allegiance to the constitution and the bill of rights rather than the flag.

They take an oath to uphold it but that seems to never work regardless which side of the isle you look.

Like religion hangs on your faith.......you have it or you don't.

Love of our country is a swell of pride that is felt and can't be explained. It's hearing children sing America the Beautiful and tearing up. It's feeling your heart flutter listening to Lee Greenwood's song and You either have it or you don't.

Sex and good bowel movements can also do the same thing so what does any of this prove? How does this immersion in mental self gratification prove you love anything? Are you suggesting that not being emotionally moved by a commercial product means I don't have something that's unprovable to begin with? Or that not being moved means I can't appreciate certains things either?
