The 855/856 new freightliners are awesome here. The shift inhibit is set properly so you only run into it if you try to shift while actually moving or revving the engine at a dangerous level. The new 861 ones are pretty decent too except that dumb wedge under foot if I remember right. Some of the in between models have the obnoxious overly sensitive shift inhibit, the higher step and higher rear bumper and the dumb wedge under the right foot. I had a workhorse 700 on a previous route (672xxx) and I loved it until it just stopped working one day. It just wouldn't start back up at a stop and it was in the shop for months. It was later reassigned to a different route and I saw it get towed into the shop recently. It was peppy, had great heat, didn't have the dumb foot wedge, very low step, but suspension was ridgid and the shelves didn't slope, so if you hit a bump or didn't baby the corners in the morning you'd empty the shelves into the aisle. It had that nice shelf next to the door you could set packages on. Later workhorses got that dump cage/handrail blocking that ledge like the new freightliners have that are obnoxious. Worthless as a handrail and takes up too much of that ledge.
