President Trump Criticizes Time Magazine's Person of the Year

You think Trump created our trade deficit?

Clueless liberal.

He's adding to it. US companies take advantage of very cheap Chinese labor, invest billions in infrastructure in China, and then import their goods that US consumers readily buy, because nearly all retail consumer goods are produced elsewhere, usually in China. That means there will ALWAYS be a trade "deficit".

The benefit to the US consumer is that off-shore produced goods are way cheaper than if they were made here or in Europe. The average Chinese person cannot afford to buy our consumer products, because they're way too expensive. Their 1% can, but their middle class is tiny compared to ours and we don't "make" things they're particularly interested in, except food. And Trump has ruined the ag agreements that took decades to form.

But, being a clueless :censored2:, you don't get it.

Trump hasn't done any such thing. Our trade with China was extremely one sided. Trump just pushed for something much more equitable. The Chinese have agreed to buy $40-$50 Billion worth of our ag products annually for the next two years. That amongst $300 Billion total from us. Yes, DEAL!
