My pick would be Grand Caymen after I had mastered Tooner's route. I wouldnt last a week on her route my mouth would get me in trouble. Remember I'm just an old country driver and where I live we shoot first and ask later.
Oh, I think you and I are from the same country. :happy-very:

I would like to trade routes with the driver of this P7 on the North Shore of Oahu. I couldn't believe he was wearing long pants. I wonder if I can get a surfboard rack installed on it.

I know 3 guys who turned down a transfer there in 2005

Although it looks nice I really doubt that vacationing on Oahu and driving for UPS on Oahu are comparable. Some of the worst routes are in tourist destinations.

I would rather drive along a two lane road next to some of the best beaches in the world anytime over my subdivision route. You might have to deal with traffic jams during the surfing competitions in the winter, but I would be happy to deal with that. 85 degree weather year round and fresh shrimp trucks on the side of the road sweeten the deal.

Hawaii is a nice place to visit, not live. We lived there for about 4 yrs in the 80s. The cost of living is outragous.. I wonder what the pay rate is for the drivers there. Downtown Honolulu would be a nightmare, I about had a heartattack first time I went down there, all narrow one way streets, and no parking. The scenery is wonderful, I would think it would be better on Maui, or even the big island.

We visit Oahu because my daughter lives there. We only are in Honolulu upon landing at the airport. We never see downtown again until leaving.
Much nicer and less crowded (for now) out Kapolei way.....all the amenities too.

I guess Disney will be building a place near the Ko'Olina resorts and then it'll get busier out that way too. We stay at Ko'Olina.

Palindrome= : a word, verse, or sentence (as “Able was I ere I saw Elba”) or a number (as 1881) that reads the same backward or forward.

Mr nickel, alas you are correct and I am wrong. After some googling,I found the correct name for words that spell another backwards are usually called semordnilaps (PALINDROMES backwards), also known as heteropalindromes, semi-palindromes, half-palindromes, reversgrams, reversible anagrams, word reversals, or anadromes.
I feel much better after learning this...hang on,no I don't:whiteflag:

It would be amusing to get to "trade places" with a NYC driver for a few days. I would probably have a nervous breakdown on my first day in NYC just trying to find somewhere to park and dealing with all the people and crowding. That whole grid system in Manhattan where you have numbered streets going both ways would confuse the hell out of me. I'm a country boy, just going to a medium-sized city like Portland OR gets my blood pressure up.

On the flip side, it would be amusing to watch a NYC driver try to get my P-700 up a muddy gravel driveway in the dark and to see his reaction when the deer jump out in front of me or when I have to wait for a herd of goats to cross the road. Or to see him try to find a particular address when all you have to go by is 3 rusty mailboxes next to 2 unmarked driveways going up a dark mountain. Or to pull into someones driveway where men with rifles are standing there butchering a deer that they just shot.

Communication would be interesting also. People from New York (excuse me, New Yoik) do speak English...sort of....but it is a different dialect and you almost need subtitles to understand them.

I like the idea. I would love to take my man STUG for a tour of God's country where there are hills and you can breathe the air and we dont have 90 degrees with 95% humidity. Come on up, STUG!
The Mrs. and I would love to swap with you guys, sober. I just need you for one day, to figure your route out. My route, on the other hand, would be easy for you to figure out. Not only this, but most of the places to eat on my area love me, and take good care of me.

I want to do stugs area ...I like oranges
I have to get my passport first, DS, then we'll swap. Just let me know what and how to feed the kitties. I'll leave a note on the care for my dogs. Don't worry, they're only trained to bite young Alaskans.:wink2:

So, you live in Rome with a pal?

Oahu is a beautiful island to visit. When I stayed there, I stayed at the Turtle Bay Hotel on the North shore. I think I gained about 25 lbs there, so many great places to eat.
