This morning Teamster president Sean O'Brien was a guest on MSNBC. Overall, I thought he handled himself and tough questions well. He seems to know that he's fighting a war on multiple fronts:

1. Political.
2 Economic
3. Public Relations
4. Reindustrialization

Your snide remark is a clear reflection of the mindset that could become the Teamsters undoing:

Arrogance and overconfidence.

Arrogance: You're collective attitude has you guys wrongly believing that you're capable of shutting down the flow of goods in
this country, But, the country has demonstrated time and time again it's ability to adapt in the face of adversity.


Overconfidence: If it's true that you're strike fund will be depleted in just weeks, do you think UPS doesn't know that
and will factor it in it's response? Do you actually believe they are no countermeasures standing by?
Whatever those countermeasures are the industry is not afraid to use them and they are likely to be
more effective than you thought they were.


Just remember one thing if you can. In a battle between the will of a union and the will of a nation....the nation always wins.

Are you kidding? A strike will make me a lot of
money. The last strike basically created RPS with the number of new shippers we got. The teamsters should strike, don’t take the insulting offers of $45/hr to deliver boxes.

UPS and the Teamsters are quite the attraction on FedEx thread, why because instead of employees and contractors just taking it, there is a real negotiation . Short or no strike ,UPSers will get back to making money. Teamsters not interested in saving the world only representing their members. Average UPSers are better off than FedEx drivers or contractors.

In '97 there were was a complete absence of fancy phones. Now they are in the hands of absolutely everybody looking to make a few quick bucks.

Not saying it would go smoothly. There would be no shortage of mishaps, misadventures, and horror stories. But it wouldn't be any worse than the constant antics of Amazon and FedEx Ground drivers that the public have become quite accustomed to.

It's called market share. Losing it's easy. Getting it back is the hard part. FDX closed today at a new 52 week high .
According to Donald Broughton widely recognized as one of the top industry analysts said that he is quite confident that UPS will make an 11th hour offer saying that this is O'Brien's strategy hoping that this will help him in his efforts to win the big organized labor prize....Amazon.
