Truck driver dies after horse trailer hits semi in Indiana Toll Road crash | Chicago Tribune

An empty horse trailer came loose from the SUV pulling it down the Indiana Toll Road early Saturday morning near Chesterton before striking a semitrailer truck and killing the semi’s driver, police said.

Julio Zatina, 50 of Bridgeview, Illinois, was driving the semi for a Chicago United Parcel Service facility when he was killed east of Chesterton, Ind., on Interstate 80-90, according to a release from Indiana State Police.

Asked around at work and it turns out this driver was one of our Freight boys. From what is understood something came in the window and caused an unsurvivable head injury.

That chunk of highway is always heavy with three bordering states drivers coming together above and beyond the other drivers passing through.

I can't believe the other driver wasn't cited or charged. He hooked up that trailer that came loose and killed somebody.
