Top 40 Ranking Recognizes UPS’s Commitment to Cross-Segment Diversity and Inclusion

UPS® (NYSE: UPS), is proud to have been named among the 2017 Best-of-the-Best Corporations for Inclusion by the National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC). The recognition acknowledges UPS’s outstanding commitment to diversity for suppliers as well as employees and customers. Estrella Cramer, Supplier Diversity Director and Chief Procurement Officer Gary Kallenbach, who leads the company’s supplier diversity initiatives, accepted the award on behalf of UPS. NBIC’s Best-of-the-Best Awards ceremony was held on August 26 in Washington, D.C.

UPS (NYSE: UPS) today announced it will deploy a prototype extended range Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) in its Rolling Laboratory fleet of alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles. UPS is working with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and other partners to design a first-of-its-kind, zero tailpipe emissions, Class 6 medium-duty delivery truck that meets the same route and range requirements of UPS’s existing conventional fuel vehicles.

Unlike fuel cell auxiliary power units, this vehicle will use the onboard fuel cell to generate electricity to propel the vehicle. This project is an important step toward demonstrating the commercial viability of zero tailpipe emissions trucks to fleet operators and the developing FCEV supply chain.

UPS (NYSE:UPS) and Sealed Air Corporation (NYSE:SEE) today announced the opening of a Packaging Innovation Center in Louisville, Kentucky on the UPS Supply Chain Solutions campus, near the Worldport® facility, which is the UPS Air Group’s global headquarters. The center will help solve the packaging and shipping challenges of e-commerce retailers, and companies in many other industries, by maximizing efficiency, minimizing waste, reducing shipping costs, and increasing brand affinity.

This is the next step in a strategic partnership between the two companies announced in November 2016 designed to help businesses prepare for the future of supply chains, fulfillment, and packaging to enable global e-commerce success.

UPS has named Mark Vale President of Growth and Emerging Markets. Vale and his team will expand and enhance the company’s market reach and global capabilities to better serve customers doing business in emerging and developing markets around the world.

Vale succeeds Derek Woodward, who retired after 32 years of service to UPS.
