Message: <blockquote data-quote="Oldfart" data-source="post: 2526947" data-attributes="member: 64407"><p>Serious question MFE.   Didn't people like you and me greatly benefit from the Portable.   I was maxed out as far as years in the Traditional.  Had been for several years.  The ONLY increase in my Traditional was the "best 5 years".   The Traditional maxed out at 25 years if I remember right.   If your best 5 continued till today,  you might increase your Traditional by 300,  maybe 400 per month.  Less than 5000 a year.   We will both  have 115k,  maybe 120k in our Portable after we let it a year or 2 after retirement.   That 5000 a year increase in your Traditional is way less than the 120k your Portable will have,   unless you draw your Traditional till you are 90.  I would rather have 120k waiting on me than wait on 400 a month.</p></blockquote><p></p>
