+ Our payroll clerk(feeders) had her office in our office. I bid my vacations as usual because I hadn't decided to retire then...... Our procedure for vacation "payoff's" was always about 4 weeks into the New Year of any year. Apparently, then and only then was the money available TO ANYONE. This was told to me by my sup, mgr and THE PAYROLL CLERK(who I had a good working relationship with.....). I actually retired in Dec. but didn't receive my vacation money earned until Feb. It was NDA'd(live check) to my house per prior arrangement with the payroll clerk. She kept me informed via text every step of the way. I NEVER signed a clearance slip. As told to me by my ORMGR-He would send in a separation from the company and I would actually still be "employed" until that made it's way through the "system"......he said it might take more than a month....especially since I retired right before Christmas. Why? Because of the grievance system. I didn't realize you are still employed until maybe arbitration. I realize retirement is a little different. So demanding "all monies owed" wouldn't have made any difference. They can't just write a check..... I would think holding out would just delay things......not make life a lot easier. To the OP: Do you know the payroll clerk? Anyone that does? yep yep
