How many 60's liberals who protested the war ended up conservative? Some liberals will always be liberal. But most elderly get at least moderately conservative over time. By the way Democrats controlled Congress for 40 years. From 1994 on Republicans have had a lot of success because liberals have taken things too far Left. And apparently haven't learned that lesson.

Through '94? Adlai Stevenson? Hubert Humphrey? Walter Mondale? Michael Dukakis? Bill Clinton? Nah, they were pretty liberal, just not the extremists running these days.

I was told by the elderly some time ago that everybody starts out a liberal and then as you get older and wiser people end up conservative . As I'm getting older I now see what they are saying . It's true , a lot of people in my age bracket are now conservative . I guess it's true that you get wiser and you see through all the liberal

Honestly (but anecdotally) I can't see this being true. Every single one of my friends who were Young Republicans are now outspoken socialists. The Democrats mostly stayed Democrats, although some also turned socialist. I've only gone further left as I've aged as well.
