[QUOTE="Jack4343, post: 1482517, member: 7328"] When my father in law passed away in 2010, my on-car sup asked for his name and then took it upon himself to figure out where the funeral home was in NY (I live in Georgia) and sent flowers to the funeral home on behalf of UPS. It is up to your individual management team. UPS will pay for it but it's up to your local management to do the grunt work. I work in a large center with way over 200 drivers. Also, our close out sup usually buys a card and gets people to sign it when someone is sick or if there is a death in the family. Again, it's up to individual local people. Times like that show you who cares. No matter how many times my on-car screwed me over later on, I never forgot that he did that. Also, I can echo the statements of others that the Teamsters did nothing. However, in their defense, how were they supposed to know about it? I guess it depends on your local BA or shop steward.
