Best Stocks for 2018...

Brownslave688

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
My personal way to pick stock involves my personal use of an item. Pepsi or coke? It'll be Coke everytime. Unless the history of a stock can predict future behavior of that stock....for example, Priceline. I've never used Priceline personally, but have made great daily amounts just dealing in options. Amazon too.
So you have no basis whatsoever for your statement.

I figured.

I'm hearing oil/ tech/ financials...but i like Cannabis plays...Anybody have one good stock they'd like to share with the board??
My cannabis play for 2018 is LeafBuyerTech.(LBUY).the company works with dispensaries with their online platform to offer specials which each dispensary decides on..think in terms of the Amazon of Cannabis)..clsed tdy @$2.75/// i've been in from $1.50's...but i think there's more room to run...With the Calif.(the largest market in the US) now in play for recreational use LBUY has plans on expanding into this market ..the company has deals in place with over 100 dispensaries across CO. & NV..sales grew by 43% last qtr...as LBUY net nearly $500K in 2017...i still see more growth with the addition of the CA. dispensaries which should be added in the nxt qtr or two...I believe they've added 200 employees to speed the process ....expect to hear more information in the next report scheduled for mid Feb.'18...also just been approved tdy for trading on the OTCQB pink sheets...BOL
I bought a little INSY. After Sessions went and opened his big mouth, I thought I'd take a chance on the pullback. I'm wishing I woulda bought more now, but oh well. Difficult to tell how this is gonna go, but I think odds are it'll be fine. If it pulls back again to my original price, I may buy a little more, but I'm not jumping in with both feet. That's just me.

My uncle sold all 75,000 shares of aphria he had 2 days before the sessions announcement.

I told him to buy back after the announcement when it all tanked. He wouldn't do it. Missed out on some big bucks he did.
Damn, that sounds like a lotta money in one stock. Your uncle went for it! How much profit did he make? Isn't that like 1.5 biggies?

blue chips.

only risk about 10% of your money on unknown stocks. just like casino gambling , it's smart to not limit your winnings but put a stop gap on your losses.
Stop loss orders are good, but not infallible. If the stock pulls back gently, it should work okay. If you happen to have a stop loss limit order and experience a gap down, You probably won't get executed. Stop loss market order if you gap down, and you could drop another couple of dollars past your stop loss order. But it's a good thought, just doesn't always work as planned.

Not sure on profit. That's a lot tied up in one stock yes and he's went for it a lot. And done very well.

He didn't talk much about profit im not sure where he got in at but if I had to guess it's less than a 1/3 of his portfolio even after the sell.

Someone asked me to post my stock/ETF portfolio a few months back and I forgot ... so here it is.
I'm not too much into individual stock ownership but I do own these. These stocks are about 12% of my investments.
This is a mildly aggressive stock portfolio since I am retired. My stock mixture was much more aggressive 20 years ago.
These were selected due to long-term stable stock, beta below .8 and annual yield on dividends of 3% or higher. I DRIP dividends.
I got into these a couple years ago and Exxon is the only one in the red.
Raytheon and Lockheed are the best performers.

Energy has taken a beating lately.

Was probably one of the few good buys the last 3-4 months

Hopefully you got out of INSY but if you're still in it looks like it's been moving up lately...

Here's one to keep an eye on ...Natural Shrimp Inc. (SHMP) closed tdy at .24 cents...been following the company for the last few weeks ... it's gone from under a nickel to as high as .32 cents tdy.... that's over a 500% return in less than a few weeks....did a little research and found out a few things about the company..
1) 18 yrs in business trying to perfect a toxin free shrimp.
2) just received 2 patents for their farming process.. i believe to simulate ocean waters w/o the toxins or chemicals once the shrimp is fully grown which takes about 24 wks.
3) one of the CEO's has stated on Facebook that he's been getting calls about going nationally as well as internationally...
4) the next big announcement will be within the next few weeks or beginning of March 2019... that being the harvest of the shrimp from last qtr of 2018.
5) much of the shrimp we get in the US is from Asia and are contaminated with toxins/ chemicals.
6)when the harvest is ready the company plans to invite as many news outlets as possible to the event.
7) As late as July 2014 the stock was trading for close to $10 per share ...before dropping to as low as .01 cent// must've found funding to complete the company's vision.
8) if the harvest comes to fruition as planned i believe the company plans to harvest other fish (salmon) as well..
9) One analyst following the company thinks it'll get to betw. $2-$3 per share by 2020.
10) do some due diligence & BOL if you decide to pick up a few shares..
