The Dems have a lot to answer for, but Trump got told directly by Xie how bad it was when the Chinese were lying to the world about it. Whatever his reasoning when he said the virus was the latest Democrat hoax he gave the Dems a way to rally their base just before the election. He should have acted on it right away, and he shouldn't have given a partisan like Woodward that kind of access. Trump supporters, and I am one, shouldn't deny mistakes were made. Trump isn't perfect, and delaying any response to what became a worldwide pandemic was a mistake.

And you know good and well once it was understood what the virus was it was on governors and mayors to protect their states and cities. The Federal government is there to assist, not direct. Trump came through with needed supplies and hospital ships and temporary hospitals. Several Democrat governors have said so. And this is exactly the kind of smears before an election that Trump opened himself up to by giving Woodward ammunition.

I heard the tape. He knew about its seriousness well before doing anything other than the Chinese travel ban. It should have been all hands on deck, we must try to stop this now before it gets worse. Wouldn't have stopped it anyways, has been proven everywhere. But he could have saved lives.
