Reality. After Hoover failed to do anything to keep the nation's banking system from total collapse Roosevelt had to drag it out of the nation's worst depression and no sooner had he done that he had to engage the nation in the worst armed conflict in world history. That is indisputable fact.

One slight correction ... FDR did not drag the USA out of the nation's worst depression until the USA was already engaged in WWII.
Another brilliant rebuttal
Here's your rebuttal from the Library of Congress:
"When Japan attacked the U.S. Naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941, the United States found itself in the war it had sought to avoid for more than two years. Mobilizing the economy for world war finally cured the depression."

was there a world depression at the time or just an american one?

your explanation is too simple and misses many contributing factors . Hoover had only been in office about 7 months when the factors that contributed to the stock market crash were kicking in with black tuesday stock market crash.
Smoot hawley Tariff act a year later possibly threw gasoline on the fire . maybe jet fuel

By the time FDR took office three years later than smoot-hawley in 1933 its likely the market and economy was at a point that it would have started rebounding regardless of anything FDR did. What FDR did however did nothing to cure the depression until 5 years later when the depression was considered over despite high unemployment that remained until 1941 and the start of WWII.

With a 5 year recovery extending the 4 years of existing depression to 1938 you would have a difficult time explaining how FDR worked any kind of magic. What he did do however was expand the government solution which you could argue may have actually slowed the rate of recovery.
the obama parallel in many ways mirror's the FDR recovery . Government expansion during a time of economic crisis probably slows considerably the natural recovery that would have occured if government had simply sat on thier hands and let it happen naturally or simply removed the mufflers that tend to slow down a recovery.

Bill Clinton fighting a combative congress may have stumbled on the ultimate solution to a productive government. one that fights and gets nothing done is the most effective.

Removed the “mufflers”? I don’t remember that term in my Macroeconomic courses in college.

You sure use a lot of words to say absolutely nothing. You must have some sort of desk job at UPS. Do you answer the phones or something?

Let's not forget Roosevelt interned Japanese-Americans in concentration camps for the duration of the war. Most decorated unit in WWII was a Japanese-American one fighting in Europe.

Given that immoral behavior is the only criteria by which you judge presidential legacy's then Trump's performance would outshine them all given that we now know Trump paid for his prostitutes thanks to Stormy Daniels.
