Pence was there, in his capacity as Senate President, to announce the Electoral votes. You had him, Pelosi, and President Pro Tempore of the Senate Chuck Grassley all together in the same building. That is  numbers 1-3 in the line of Presidential succession in a building that was literally under seige by a group of violent insurrectionists. That constitutes a direct threat to national security. Anyone attempting to force their way into a room occupied by those three people...especially when they have a mob behind them...is going to get blown away by the Secret Service. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.</p></blockquote><p></p>
