Taught to the Tune of a Hickory Stick--and a Fractured Neck

Posted by Mike Tennant at February 12, 2009 07:18 AM

At least 818 Chicago Public School students have reported being abused by teachers or other staff members since 2003. Among the allegations: "students beaten with broomsticks, whipped with belts, yard sticks, struck with staplers, choked, stomped on and pushed down stairs. One substitute teacher even fractured a student's neck." Of these, 568 cases were verified; and of those, "only 24 led to termination. Records show one teacher who quote 'battered students for several years' was simply given a 'warning' by the Board of Education."
All of this took place on the watch of former Chicago Public School CEO (gotta love that business-like terminology to fool the rubes!) Arne Duncan, who is now . . . Barack Obama's Secretary of Education. (Link via Drudge.)

I don't think anyone in heartland America will argue that this isn't change!

My favorite line?

Hey Mike, if only the rubes were confined to Chicago. There are loads by the millions and they either voted democrat or republican in the last election.

That should jack em' up faster than a starbucks expresso!

Ain't I a Stinker!:wink2:
