People who sistrust government are more likely to try to explain inconsistencies with theories, and when the government is involved, it would logically require many people working together, hence the conspiracy. Right wingers/conservatives, whatever, tend to distrust the government in general. Liberals/democrats/leftists (whatever label you want to use) are more likely to trust the representatives they identify with, which makes them more susceptible to deception. The real question is, which is worse, chasing rabbits down theoretical, conspiritorial holes, or being a lamb led to the slaughter?</blockquote>
