https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/pdfs/mm6936a5-H.pdf A study conducted in July, by the CDC, including a control group. It was a survey, and had a really small participant pool, so take the information as you will. The researchers focused on the fact that many of the respondents who tested positive had eaten at restaurants in the two weeks prior to testing. But in the graph of questions responses, you can see that 85% of people who tested positive claimed to have "always" or "regularly" worn a mask. If you are willing to accept a statistical analysis comparing virus numbers between various populations with differing levels of masking requirements that ignores areas where the results don't support their hypothesis, and have no reliable means of controlling for confounding variables, then you ought to at least consider the results of this survey, which did at least identify a control group. Over and over, the studies being done using best practices do not show evidence of masks helping slow the spread of viruses. Not sure how much more evidence it will take to force the "experts" that "everyone" trusts so much to finally admit they are wrong, but we can hope it happens soon.
