Grocery stores are not covered entities, that doesn't mean HIPAA doesn't apply, it means they are not required to keep your information private, as such, they have no right to enquire. They can ask how you are doing, and that is about it. Imagine if businesses told people they couldn't enter without proof of a negative HIV test. The same people saying it's not illegal to ask about vaccination status would be having an absolute melt down.</blockquote>
