Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 5489050" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>My dad was denied by his general practitioner a referral to see a cardiologist for two years even though he was supposed to see one every 6 months.  Said he could do everything a cardiologist could do.  The result?  My dad's blood pressure went crazy, his heart was stopping and starting, ended up in a hospital where he got a pacemaker.  He sees his cardiologist now.  The GP's are being pushed by the insurance companies to handle as much as possible themselves.  This allows them and the GP's to make more money.  Cardiologist told my dad he's lost a third of his practice because of this.</p></blockquote><p></p>
