So they can choose for it to not be Saturday if they so desire?

By optional they mean you can either come in Saturday or they can put aside what they would've had you do on Saturday and add it to your Monday.

I think it is a joke also but I had a heavy industrial route and had over 3 hours of pickups and they didn't want us using them for pickups.. And to be honest they get in the way for pickups.

I'd point to the skids, point to the truck shelves, and offer him $10 to impress me.
Then remind him we have 10 more opportunities to impress that day.
