Our next move will necessarily be a reactive one, since the Teamsters are MIA, and organizing at the local level means harassment and/or termination. I'm guessing we'll be waiting on the outcome of the RLA language. If it does get inserted, perhaps the IBT will get on the ball and some of our employees off the fence. If the RLA exemption remains unchanged, we can expect the screws to be tightened even more and anyone who spoke-up to be dealt with harshly. What so many of you fail to understand is that FedEx has got you covered, no matter what you try to do as far as organizing goes. You cannot distribute any materials, you WILL be targeted, followed, and set-up for discipline or termination, and forever labeled as an enemy within. Unless you exist within the culture, I really can't expect you to understand how oppressive and illegal their tactics are. That's why we've always needed outside help and will continue to do so. I'd really like to see an investigation into the illegal actions that FedEx takes and has taken now for 36 years and counting. There should be fines and sanctions levied against all of the top executives...especially Smith. It has reached criminal proportions, and if some of the political payoffs and deals eventually go public, the FedEx image will get an long overdue dragging through the mud.
