Did my first week of UPS package handling

Not gonna lie the job kicks my ass. My wrist hurts more than my back got a brace now. I loaded two of the package cars one day the rest of the time is unloading trucks. Everybody seems decent enough and it's not bad getting up at 3 am every day I'm still not sure if I ever want to be a driver I know they push that a lot and make good money but I'm told you have no life

If you need a back brace, and have messed up your wrist already, you're doing things wrong.
It's a marathon, not a sprint. And you're gonna get wheeled out in a body bag before peak even starts, at the rate you are going.

If you can get past the probation you’re in. I hated the job at first, but keep in mind you won’t find those benefits anywhere else. Especially part time. You have to see the bigger picture with ups. Go in do your job and stay off the radar.

Can't see much of your family when you have to work 2 or 3 part time jobs.

Well I wasn't really healthy to begin with I'm honestly surprised they even hired me. I have just a wrist brace my back is sore after the day but it's fine considering. I don't use a back brace yet. I don't know what I did to my right hand I'm right handed so maybe I just put too much weight on it all the time.

Yeah I try to remember that. Of course I don't exactly know what all I get I keep being told to stick with it.

Do package car drivers go over 8 hours peak season and normal working days? 8 is enough for me.

Sometimes my supervisors get kinda pushy so I try to keep a steady pace. It's a workout for sure I know I need it lol

This job is not for everyone, especially when you are at the bottom of the seniority list.

Especially in NC where $100K is like $200K. You should see all the depressed drivers pulling in the parking lot with their jacked up Raptors, Tundras, and in the summer, boats and motorcycles.
