I used to have Heartland Wireless Cable. This was the best thing going. It broadcast over microwaves from a city about 40 miles away and I had a small mesh type square dish on my house to pick it up. The best part about it was that we could watch 10 different things on 10 different channels in 10 different rooms in the house without any type of receiver or box attached to the tv. It is still big in the south I believe, but I guess our market wasn't big enough so they cut it about 6-7 years ago and I had to switch to Directv. I have had no problems what so ever and actually still have both original receivers and one original remote. We recently took advantage of the Black Thursday sales at Thanksgiving and bought a 47" LCD tv. Wow, what a picture, especially when we watch a blue ray disc. (We have "Planet Earth" and "Band of Brothers" on blue ray-it feels like you are there!) The problem is, we can't take full advantage of our new HD tv with our old satelite tv. I have looked into upgrading to HD Directv and adding two receivers but they won't give their loyal and long time customers any freebies! So I have considered switching to Dish just to get 4 receivers installed, (one of them HD) and a dvr for nothing as a new customer. Directv gives the same thing to their new customers but won't give me jack! Anybody else had to deal with this with their current satelite company?
