Oh I read it in it’s entirety. The response I gave applies to either situation. Feeding all of the dogs on the route or just the ones that you think might actually be a problem. The end result will be the same. The difference being how many dogs react to the treats. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve tried both. The last of which was just trying to tame the bad ones. It didn’t always work. It’s been years but I seem to remember more of them being uninterested in the treats than interested. I also didn’t like having to spend the money on those things. And the first time I forgot to take them out of my truck when I had a day off was the last time I had any. When I came back to work the box was basically empty because the cover drivers gave them away to every dog they encountered. And a lot of the dogs on my route that barely paid attention to me were acting differently. Some were very hyper and aggressive. For some of those dogs that’s all it takes. Just one day getting a treat. The best way to defend yourself is to stand your ground, if you can’t make it back to the truck in time, and point the DIAD at them. 99% of the dogs I’ve encountered freeze when I do that. I can’t explain it. If that doesn’t work I’m trying to kick a 60 yard field goal to win the Super Bowl. Whatever part of their body my shoe/boot hits is the football. If you encounter one like that when you roll up, or have just stepped out of the truck, just turn around and leave. Have the clerk call the customer. There’s not one single package on any of these trucks that are worth the risk of getting bitten or mauled by a dog.
