Does FedEx do same-day will call?

I have a phone coming tomorrow, sig required.

We at UPS have a same-day will call option for the customer to pick up their package when the driver returns.

Does FedEx have a similar option?

Go to Fdx website and you can request hold at Walgreens or Fedex Office locations. Or you can pick up at the Fedex station when the driver returns but you can get it held and pick it up much earlier. Or you can have them not even take out for delivery and have it held at the station. If it is not marked DIRECT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, you can leave a hand signed note on the door. If it is marked DIRECT, can't leave with a note. Plenty of options.

Some of those options were greyed out.

I assume that means they are not available.
Hope you found 1 that helped you out. Not sure why anything wouldn't be available. The only exception on having packages held at Fedex Office or Walgreens is Haz packages I believe. I leave phones, pharmacy packages and liquor packages at various hold locations a few times per week.

Not 100% sure but don’t think we can redirect Verizon phones to Walgreens. Other carriers possibly. Amazes me than we can leave firearms and alcohol behind a very insecure photo counter but not some phones...

::edit::
I should say I don't think we're *supposed* to redirect Verizon phones to Walgreens, but I certainly can and have with my PPAD. Some shippers don't want us redirecting stuff for some reason-

I think I’ve heard that about Verizon also. So we can leave guns at Walgreens? I was wondering about that.

I have had my CSA give me redirects of handguns. I don't tell the Walgreens people what they are though. Not sure if that's good or bad info to give out, you know?
I have a gun shop on my route that’s closed Mon-Wed. Of course I’m always getting packages for him those days. I finally took his number and told him I’d call him when I get in town so he can meet me. I really don’t like his guns floating around. Yes, I know it’s not my problem, but still...

Apparently Fed has absolutely zero options for me other than be home.

800 number goes to automated response.

I am actually surprised there is no will call option.

Hopefully I have an option for Saturday.

There IS a will call option. It’s called “hold at location”. They will hold it at the station for you to pick up. I’m sure when you call the 800 number you can eventually get a human.

Even the 800 number specifically says 'unfortunately, this package cannot be held at a Fed Ex facility because this package must by be delivered at the address.'

We are just as strict with sig required Sprint phones, except same day will call is always an option for our customers to pick up their packages at our customer service counter once the driver returns.

Hopefully your driver returns to building before they close. There should be no problem picking it up at the station after the attempted delivery. Also, might be worth leaving a signed note at your house if you're ok with it being left outside your door. Most/all of the Verizon stuff I deliver is indirect signature.

Unless you are really rural, your local FedEx location should be open on Sat. Bring your doortag, ID and all should be good.

And yes, sometimes FedEx has same day will call, you need to call early with tracking number, most cases they can get the message out to the sort and pull the package, unfortunately some areas have very large facilities and leave very early in the morning.
