You throw that statistic around like it actually means something. It doesnt. Murder is murder and dead is dead. The method used for killing is irrelevant to the victim. A more meaningful statistic would be the per capita murder rate. In the United States, the per capita murder rate for 2010 was 5.0 per 100,000 and in Canada it is 1.81 per 100,000. It stands to reason that more of our murders will be committed with guns because we have more guns, just like it stands to reason that more people will freeze to death in Canada than in Saudi Arabia because it tends to be a bit colder. Explain this to me, Klien....the murder rate for the state of Vermont is only 1.1 per 100,000 which is lower than the entire country of Canada. Vermont has some of the most liberal gun laws in the United States. It is one of three states where you do not even need a permit to carry a concealed handgun. By your logic the streets should run red with blood there, yet it is actually safer and less violent that your country with its strict controls on guns. Enlighten us with your wisdom, Klein.
