Island, I agree with you completely and believe we as a nation dont have the right mechanisms to hold "sperm donors" responsible for thier offspring. I know many that pay nothing for thier children, like my own father and for years, got away with murder and put us on the welfare system as kids. Responsibility for kids actions is something society wants to excuse away, but it cant if we are going to correct the mindset of our population. With guns, just as in with cars, the parents shall be held responsible for all actions under 18 whether or not they use the gun or not. In my state, a legislator claims he accidentally tried to board an aircraft at the airport with a loaded Colt mark IV handgun he claims he was carrying because he was threatened by some rogue marine. His claim that he was "afraid" and carried the gun and hid it in his bag so his wife didnt see it is ridiculous at best. It shows what an IRRESPONSIBLE GUN OWNER is capable of. He is facing charges as he should be despite his claims that it was just an accident. IRRESPONSIBLE GUN OWNERS should be punished for just being STUPID. What if he forgot where he put it and a child found it and killed themself? There are a billion WHAT IFS and maybe if he is prosecuted for his stupidity and irresponsibility, another GUN OWNER might just get the message and become responsible. Nobody knows what is going through someones mind at any time, and having a loaded gun at an airport is a ZERO TOLERANCE crime. Capitol Alert: Tim Donnelly's airport gun incident sparks new legislation The NRA hates responsibility and would rather have thousands of gun deaths instead of more responsibility. This is a shame. Peace. TOS
