My mom always had the Mrs Cleaver look with the dress heels and pearls ,, till # 4 came , then the typical moms house Coat became fashionable !! lol

My Mother was a telephone operator who had to work split shifts, week ends, nights and all kinds of weird hours. She was only around to make us supper about every other week. Dad was a typical husband back then -- housework was not their job. My two brothers and I learned early on how to take care of ourselves.

Salsbury Steak , corn, mashed potatoes
and gravy plus about 2 bites of something akin to cherry cobbler all in an aluminum pan

When I was little I wished my mom would get some of those TV dinners....she was the home cooking kind of mom and kids don't appreciate it 'til it's too late.
