How Would You Make A Living Back In the 1800's?

I'd set up shop next door to Moreluck. My specialty? Lasagna! The pan on the left is made with hard boiled egg in the layers. Garfield, eat your heart out!

Speaking of lasagna, there's a Greek version worth killing for. I
get it every year at a Greek festival. It's a combination of a
'macaroni and cheese from heaven' on top with a meat and
pasta layer below.

If anyone has time to make it, OMG, it's the absolute best.

Don't let the lengthy recipe deter you from trying it.......it's pretty good !!

Greek Casserole

2 Tbls. oil
1 large onion (diced)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 lb. ground beef
1 (8oz.) tomato sauce
2 Tbls. tomato paste
1 tsp. salt
1 lb ziti pasta or penne
2 Tbls. butter
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
4 egg whites slightly beaten

Bechemel sauce

6 Tbls. butter
3/4 cup flour
3 cup milk
1 can chicken broth
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
4 egg yolks, beaten

Saute onion & garlic in oil over medium/hi heat. Add ground beef. Brown and drain fat. Stir in tom. sauce, paste & salt. Simmer 30 mins. Cook macaroni & drain and toss with butter, 3/4 cup cheese & egg whites.

Preheat oven to 350. Put half the macaroni mixture in a 13x9 baking dish. Spoon on the meat mixture, cover with rest of macaroni and set aside.
Sauce.....
In a large pan melt butter over med. heat.Add flour and stir til well blended ( a couple mins) Remove from heat. Stir in milk & broth. Return to heat & cook stirring constantly 'til thick & comes to a boil. Stir in salt & pepper. To blend egg yolks, pour 1 cup of hot sauce into the yolks then pour back into sauce (this avoids the yolks from cooking). Pour sauce over top of casserole. Make a few holes so sauce can seep down. Sprinkle top with rest of cheese. Bake for 45 mins.....'til bubbly.

I would first try to be a gigolo.

There may be little hope left for you....
Funny, Sammie.:happy-very:
The sad fact is that it is my true history.
Being pimped to wealthy woman just did not fit my moral code.
I would not sell what I gladly gave away.
The money I could have made then can never match the wealth I have now.
June 24th will mark my 31st anniversary and I never have had to explain my past to my wife.
So, I hope you have even more hope for me.:happy2:

Readers Digest version.
I was 20yrs old attending college.
Young, horny and handsome.
(and poor as a church mouse)
An elder aged woman (she was 30) and I became intimate.
She had connections to the true wealthy woman in Houston that needed comfort, and offered me that job.
As broke as I was then, I could not sell myself that cheap.
I often have thought what would have happened, if I made that wrong turn.
This is just one story, in my naked city.:happy2:

Ok , I would have been a gun slinger, I dont know what year it was, they had cars, I woulda been the Bonnie in bonnie and Clyde, and then a saloon girl when I was not busy shooting. I always loved bars, and horses, and guns, and cowboys:wink2: I was definetely born in the wrong era.

Satellite -

I've known you to be a stand up guy for how long now???

Congrat on your upcoming anniversary and I wish you both many more to come.

Please let your lovely lady know from all of us how lucky she is!

And by the way, how are you feeling after your recent injury???

When I was in my early to mid twenties I started having what at first seemed like dreams, but were different from my regular dreams. Most of my dreams were about current events in my life, things that happened the week before or sometimes just the days before and they were almost always in third person, like I was watching myself from outside of my body. Then sometimes just as I was trying to go to sleep, I would have what seemed more like a memory than a dream, in first person. Everything was through my eyes. In those memory/dreams I was a law officer, a sheriff. These have persisted, sporadically throughout my life, as I get older the person in my memory/dreams ages at the same level. I once had a psychologist that I met at a party tell me they could be memories from a past life(he was serious), I don't really buy into that though. So, maybe(although I doubt it) I made my living in the 1800's as an officer of the law.
