[QUOTE="diesel96, post: 775752, member: 9859"] AV8....my sincere appreciation for your service and sacrifices, and that goes for any other veterans or parents with siblings in our military that are viewing this site. Myself included. Having said that, viewing this heartbreaking photo, IMO we as a nation need to differentiate the implied thought process of equating this to "bashing this country", to bashing the "policies of our elected civilian leaders" and the influential entities that controls them. It doesn't ease my mind that my son can come home with no arms and legs because of the advancements of modern medical technology. What will ease my mind, is our Gov't's realization of "What the hell are we doing there in the first place".....I think it's safe to say we all (lf and rt) love our young men and women in the Military. And it's pure ignorance of those to try to convince their minions of sole proprietary ownership of our troops, especially by Hannity/Palin rally lingo by repeating keywords such as Freedom, Liberty, Troops over and over again....JMHO I don't believe anti-war advocate WKMAC implied/questioned the honor of our wounded, but the shady side of war and the reasoning behind it, that is selectively not shown to promote, more War. And folks, enough with the "We're fighting for your freedom" routine......true our Military is a deterent from any foreign entity from overpowering us an literally taking our freedom. But we really haven't fought in a war that "literally" threatened our freedom since WWII. In fact our freedom is slowly being disentergrating from within, financially/politically.....in the name of security.....our founding fathers have rolled in ther grave with their behinds sticking up in the air above ground and used parking bumpers so we can park our 'Humvees" and black tinted window Gov't owned GM Suburbans on top and leak fluids on their legacy....JMHRant for the day !
