Another member mentioned it, so I'll start the thread about it.

If you were an owner/ operator at UPS, what would you have in your truck?

i would quit UPS Freight and start my own trucking company

i would call it Overnite (that names not taken is it?) and wouldnt require my employees to memorize and recite the 8 steps to lifting a box, or monitor there every move by satellite

12v Cig Plug - Good for charging phones, GPS, or whatever you might need.

Built in Radio - Well a radio is questionable accessory depending oh what kind of route your on, some routes you just cant enjoy the damn thing.

Fan - Like the post office trucks have, right now i have a portable one, but would rather one be built in. The problem with A/C is its not useful in the front cab cause of opening / closing doors, and in the back would be nice, but you would need a big ass A/C unit.

Personal Effects shelf - Some trucks have more of this some less. But an acual place to put an ice chest, coat hanger, bag cubby. Putting this stuff on the shelf is fine been doing it for years, but it would be nice to have your own space for this stuff to contain it and keep loaders from cluttering it up.

Better seats - Again this depends on the truck you get, but i think the seats should be inspected regularly and updated, would reduce alot of wear on the drivers.

And now for fantasy land.

-Mini Fridge
-A/C unit for the back and front
-Carpet in the back
-Large Florescent Lights for back package compartment
-Radio with speakers front in back
-Door Mid truck
-Racing Seats
-New Springs/Shocks
-Hammock =D

I would probably have a custom built version of what I have now, long nose Mack. Maybe a lightly longer cab for more legroom, better steering geometry so it could maneuver better, build the UPS computer into the dash instead of having it bolted next to the stick, UV tinted windows,a fifth wheel boom like a shifter to be able to lift a trailer to pull it out and get at the legs in the open, built in Sat radio and speakers. But first and foremost it would be locked up when I`m not using it so the "drivers" who think it`s their trash bin can go drive something else, and it would be immaculately clean.

Definitky A/c would be nice. I would be happy with just a normal radio. And a 12 Volt adapter, to plug in a coolerfridge, to keep drinks and lunches cold, but laso be reversable for warmth in the winter (keep coffee hot, and maybe soups). And yes, get rid of that greenhouse effect in the cargo area... have a retractable white cover... for summer time. And fans.
Would also love to see winter tires installed in those months.
And a much lighter uniform in the heat months.. (light brown , kinda like white, with a shade of brown ).

I already have power steering, cruise control, a/c, tilt/tele wheel, air seat, and my custom made slip seater box with Blaupunkt stereo, Cobra C.B. and Sirius.

What more do I need :happy2:?

Ok, power windows would be nice.

I just want a bypass so that the IVIS won't record my idling time and sleep with the A/C running during the hot and humid Florida nights...Some guys have said if you unplug the wiring harness underneath the dash that connects to our computer it won't record the idling....but I'm wondering if you do it all the time, it might catch up to you....any experts on this ?

the IVIS just goes blank, and it will restart once you plug it back in. Our tractors have auto-shut off after 5 minutes of idling.
