I've yet to spend more than three months in any one country. I have obligations here in the States. I've just spent the last 6 months helping my 82 yr old father out as he recovered from knee replacement surgery. Can you name one president who ever waved his hands and made everything wonderful for everyone? The fact is that the U.S. is a very expensive place to live but due to the U.S. Dollar's status as the world's reserve currency it has value in other countries that gives you an advantage to live comfortably over spending the same amount of dollars in the States. My biggest concern is due to current money printing inflation will make my fixed income pension worth much less and the Dollar is at risk of being replaced as the world's reserve currency because of that same inflation. That won't just affect me, it'll lower the living standard of every American as goods from overseas become much more expensive. And you can't just snap your fingers and replace all that overseas manufacturing. The spending proposals in Congress are playing with fire, and there's already a lot of smoke. You may not believe that now, but if we get into a Great Depression scenario you'll see what many financial wizards are very worried about.
