Tens of millions of people live paycheck to paycheck on low pay and few if any benefits. 12 hour days are tough but the high.pay and excellent benefits make it possible to provide well for your family.
I get what you're doing, trying to hit a home run financially that would allow escape from a tough job. But you're doing it the hard way. You want to accumulate millions to live "the life." Your perfect scenario is a mansion, hot cars, and even hotter women. That lifestyle is hard to maintain without.a constant injection of serious money.
Now take myself. I don't have a pot to piss in but my.Social Security alone would provide a quality lifestyle in numerous foreign countries. Throw in a good pension and I can live a lifestyle equal to what $150k a year would get you in the States. It's not a millionaire lifestyle, but it makes you very comfortable. Modern communications means you can live in may foreign countries and stay totally connected, totally entertained. And you're doing it without working.
Your UPS pension is much, much better than the small pension I got from FedEx. Your Social Security will be much higher than what I'm getting. Yet you may be a little nervous wondering how you're going to pay for retirement living in an extremely expensive country. My accelerated pension drops down to $117 a month when I turn 67. That plus Social Security will give me $2000 or so a month. And I'm not concerned at all. You want freedom from the grind? Assess what you have, figure out how to make the most of it. Not wanting anything less than a multimillionaire lifestyle in the States is your.prerogative. But if you don't make it to that level and it upsets you and you are unhappy then you only have yourself to blame. Be happy.with what you do have, it's much more than what tens of millions in the States, and billions worldwide, will ever have.
