I don't really care about homosexual issues, there are a lot of issues I don't really have much thought about, but what I always attempt to do with issues I don't have much care for is see what's at hand. On the one hand, for homosexuals, they have without question faced and continue to face violence and discrimination because they are homosexual and were for a very long time defined as abnormal in general within this society, and as abominations in religious text. So coming from that perspective, it's easy to see where this political energy is coming from in defense of their place within society. The opposition or the people who are against this stuff for the most part at first projected this idea that recognizing homosexuals and not demonizing them as deviants would be disastrous for society, now these same people are projecting this idea that they'll be victimized or are going to be punished as a result of the political energy surrounding homosexual acceptance within society either based on their religious beliefs or just their right to have a differing belief about homosexuals. In other words, imo the opposition is making stuff up in order to maintain a situation of oppression against homosexuals to some degree or another. To me that's the major thrust of this homosexual rights stuff, are all homosexual's perfect? No are all there political ideas great? No, do I have any idea what CIS gendered, non binary, hetero normative mean? No, do I care about that stuff? No. I am comfortable seeing transgendered people? not really, but should my personal feelings about these people impact their access to protection under the law they in many cases are denied? Heck no. I can see reality.
