Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 5867100" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>What you can't seem to understand is that while many things were done in the name of Christianity that were bad, those doing such things weren't practicing Christianity.  If they were those things wouldn't have happened.  As to those great empires you spoke of...take Rome for example.  Do you know what Rome did if there was any rebellion in the empire?  They marched in and killed every person in the town where the rebellion started.  That's how they kept a lid on things.  Rome fell apart from it's own decadence.  They were paying barbarians to fight for them.  It was Christianity that got us out of the Dark Ages.</p></blockquote><p></p>
