I'm parttime 32yrs. I think this is one of the best contracts. We don't have a cap on pt wages in the western. I agree UPS got away with keeping the starting wage at 8.00 for years. But we all get the increases every year. Some people were saying part timers don't care about the health insurance I disagree. When I first started, we were all college students I did care I had 3 kids. I am very thankful for this job; I do earn every penny. Manual labor, terrible working conditions, constant disrespect from management. We have 28 sups for one shift. I'm getting 4.25 raise an hr plus pension, healthcare vacations, sick days, holiday pay and we also get pacific coast. .40 cents for every hour I work goes into another account. We get a 5 percent discount if we buy UPS stock. The best is getting rid of 22.4, I thought that was the absolute worst bs, none of our 22.4 worked inside they all drove full time. I've bid on 6 combo jobs, even though I had more company seniority it went to guys from another building who had more combo seniority. Bummed but I stand by seniority. I tried driving I was told too slow even though the senior drivers told me I made it. 140 stops with average 350 pkgs in by 6pm. Drove on sat for a while. This was a really good contract, with taking away camaras, more sure post pkgs, pt and ft being able to transfer,7500 fulltime jobs and pvp language. I told mgt, CEO took away all management perks to pay for our raises.
